Makinen’s WRC debut was “1000 Lakes Rally” in 1987. From there he took part in the WRC with Mazda, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru teams. Makinen won the Drivers’ Championship 4 years in a row from 1996 to 1999. He retired as a driver in 2003.
